"Play Positive, Think Positive!"

Happy New Year from Positive Play!

Positive Play is beginning 2008 with increased field activities, predominantly aimed at training of trainers, equipping of ‘primary clubs’ and preparation of risk education coverage of 'secondary clubs'.

Our second poster is now complete and features 21 Bosnian sports persons representing 10 different sports. The slogan “I’m a Positive Player” is displayed around the edges of the poster in 31 international languages. The center of the poster features the slogan “Play Positive, Think Positive!”

We expect to complete the creation and printing of our magazine “Positive Pace” by the end of February. This will be distributed initially to 5,000 beneficiaries and will comprise topics ranging from mine and weapon risk to drugs awareness and health and fitness information.

We are also in the planning stage of a new set of monthly events, “Street Basket vs Small Weapons”, to be organized in major towns and cities throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.

je da zaštiti mlade ljude u Bosni i Hercegovini kroz pružanje edukacije o rizicima i promociju pozitivnog izražavanja kroz sport i kulturu. Ovo se postiže kroz:

Adresiranje svih glavnih rizika sa kojima se suočavaju djeca i mladi ljudi širom zemlje;

Prezentiranje sporta, kulture, tolerancije, zdravog ponašanja i timskog rada kao pozitivnih izazova za intelekt, psihologiju i emocije mladih ljudi, dok se mine, naoružanje, zloupotreba droga, etnička i spolna netolerancija tretiraju kao negativni izazovi ili čak i rizici koji nisu vrijedni;

Mobiliziranje relevantnih sportskih, kulturnih i društvenih predstavnika koji trebaju shvatiti, razumjeti i adresirati ove rizike;

Obuka takvih predstavnika zajednice u prezentaciji pitanja zaštite, kako bi se osigurala dugoročna održivost inicijativa za edukacije o rizicima Pozitivne Igre.

Positive Play's mission:

Is to protect young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina through provision of risk education and promotion of positive expression through sport and culture. This is achieved through:

Addressing all the major risks faced by children and young people throughout the country;
Presenting sport, culture, tolerance, healthy behaviour and teamwork as positive challenges to the intellect, physiology and emotions of young people while treating mines, weapons, substance abuse, ethnic and gender intolerance as negative challenges or rather risks that are simply not worth taking;
Mobilizing relevant sporting, cultural and social representatives to acknowledge, understand and address these risks;
Training such community representatives in the presentation of protection issues to ensure long-term sustainability of Positive Play's risk education initiatives.
